Woman charged with high-range drink-driving after crash in school zone in Maroubra

A woman has been charged with high-range drink-driving after allegedly crashing into the back of another car inside an operating school zone this morning at Maroubra, NSW Police say.

About 8.35am (Friday 2 March 2018), officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command, were called to outside a school on Anzac Parade, near the intersection of Beauchamp Road, following reports of a crash.

Police will allege the driver of a Holden Cruze, a 21-year-old Malabar woman crashed into the rear of a Hyundai Tucson inside a school zone, as parents were dropping children off at a nearby school.

Both drivers received minor injuries form the crash.

Officers submitted the driver of the Holden to a breath test which returned a positive reading.

The woman was arrested and taken to Maroubra police station where she returned a breath analysis of 0.158.

She was charged with high range drink-driving and had her licence suspended on the spot.

She is due to face Waverley Local Court on 11 April 2018.
