Woman charged with high-range drink-driving, children in car in Kingswood

A woman has been charged after allegedly drink-driving with two children in the car at Kingswood, NSW Police say.

About 11.35am today (Sunday 29 April 2018), police were called to O’Connell Street, after a member of the public was concerned about a woman allegedly driving a Volkswagen Golf in a dangerous manner.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command attended and spoke with the driver, a 31-year-old woman.

Police will allege while attempting to conduct a roadside breath test, she struck the officers arm.

Subsequently, she was arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station where she underwent a breath analysis and returned an alleged reading of 0.308.

Two passengers of the vehicle, aged four and six, were conveyed to Penrith Police Station before being picked up by a family member.

She was charged with high-range PCA and assault police officer in the execution of their duty.

Her licence was suspended.

She was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court tomorrow (Monday 30 April 2018).

A notification was made to Family and Community Services (FACS).
