Woman charged with high-range drink-driving, five times legal limit in Maroubra

A woman has been charged with drink-driving after allegedly driving with more than five times the legal limit in Maroubra last night., NSW Police say

About 8.30pm yesterday, officers from the Traffic & Highway Patrol Command were conducting random breath testing on Malabar Road, when a Hyundai coupe stopped short of the RBT site.

Officers approached the car and submitted the driver, a 53-year-old Malabar woman, to a breath test which returned a positive reading.

She was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station where she allegedly returned a reading of 0.267.

She was charged with high-range drink-driving second or subsequent offence, and had her licence suspended on the spot.

Police will allege it is the second time she has been charged with high-range drink-driving within the past five years.

She is due to face Waverley Local Court on Wednesday 22 February 2017.
