Prahran Police have charged an alleged prolific thief after seizing a myriad of drugs and stolen items from South Melbourne.
Officers from the Prahran Divisional Response Unit executed a search warrant at the unit on Park Street, South Melbourne 6.45am on Wednesday 30 July.
Inside, police uncovered several items including drugs and allegedly stolen goods:
- Methylamphetamine worth more than $11,000
- A quantity of heroin
- A quantity of amphetamine
- A quantity of cash
- Two fraudulent identity cards
- Three identity cards in the names of other people including a Melbourne Cricket Club membership card allegedly stolen from a car in South Melbourne on 21 May.
- Three bank cards in the names of other people
- Three passports in the names of other people; one of which was an Australian passport allegedly stolen from a car in Middle Park in November 2018, and a German passport allegedly taken during a theft in Melbourne in December 2022.
- Two sets of high-end golf clubs allegedly stolen during a burglary in Richmond on 13 June.
- Designer clothing with anti-theft devices attached
- Nine mobile phones, one of which was allegedly stolen during a burglary in Richmond last week.
- Five laptops/tablets
- OC spray
A 55-year-old woman and 43-year-old man - both from South Melbourne - were arrested at the scene.
The woman was charged with trafficking and possessing methylamphetamine, possessing heroin and amphetamine, a prohibited weapon and false document, as well as knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and six counts of dealing with property suspected proceeds of crime, and six counts of handling stolen goods.
The man was charged with possessing methylamphetamine, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
Both were bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 17 October.
