Homicide Squad detectives are investigating following the death of a woman in Kyneton this afternoon, Victoria Police say.
Emergency services were called to an address on Lavenders Lane following reports of an assault about 3.45pm.
A woman was located and treated by paramedics.
The woman, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
A 44-year-old Kyneton man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
