Woman dies after being stabbed in Whalan

An investigation is underway after the death of a woman in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Moresby Street, Whalan, about 2am following reports a woman had been found inside a home with a stab wound.

A 30-year-old woman was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a stab wound to her torso, but she died at the scene.

Officers attached to Mount Druitt Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

A 26-year-old man was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
