A driver has died after a single-vehicle crash in the state's central west.
About 9.40pm on Wednesday 25 June 2025, emergency services were called to Lachlan Valley Way, Forbes, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Central West Police District attended and found a Toyota SUV had left the roadway and crashed into a tree – trapping the driver.
After some time, the driver, a 27-year-old woman, was extricated by first responders before being taken to Orange Hospital in a critical condition with leg and internal injuries.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances of the crash commenced.
About 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday 26 June 2025), police were advised the woman passed away in hospital.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
