Woman Dies After Crash - Port Stephens

A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in Port Stephens last night.

About 10:30pm yesterday (Sunday 14 December 2025), police were patrolling The Bucketts Way at Limeburners Creek – about 12km east of Clarence Town – when they located a 36-year-old man on the side of the road.

Officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District were told the man's vehicle had crashed nearby.

A short time later, officers located the vehicle that had left the road and crashed into a tree.

A woman, believed to be aged 35, was located deceased in the vehicle and was unable to be revived. She is yet to be formally identified.

The driver was taken to the John Hunter Hospital for assessment and mandatory testing.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.
