A woman has died after a fire in the state's Central Coast yesterday.
About 9.30pm on Sunday (24 August 2025), emergency services were called to a unit on Melissa Close, Bateau Bay, following reports of a fire.
Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended and found a 77-year-old woman with severe burns deceased at the scene, and unable to be revived.
A crime scene was established and investigations commenced into the circumstances surrounding the fire.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
