Woman dies after incident in taxi in Echuca

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a woman in Echuca last month.

It's understood the woman, who was in a wheelchair and travelling in the rear of a wheelchair accessible taxi, got into difficulty and asked for help from the driver while on Ogilvie Avenue shortly before 12.30pm on 6 February.

The driver immediately pulled over and rendered assistance.

Sadly the 63-year-old woman couldn't be revived and died at the scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated by police together with WorkSafe investigators.
