Woman dies after pedestrian crash - Leichhardt

A woman has died after being struck by a truck in Sydney's Inner West today.

About 10.30am (Tuesday 12 October 2021), emergency services were called to the corner of Marion and Flood streets, Leichhardt, following reports of a crash.

The pedestrian was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, she died at the scene.

She is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged 43.

The 43-year-old male driver of the truck was not injured and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
