Woman dies after single-vehicle crash near Tamworth

A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in the state's northwest today.

Just before 11.30am (Monday 21 November 2022), emergency services were called to Appleby Lane, near Fairs Road, at Bective – about 25km north-west of Tamworth – following reports a car had crashed into a tree.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman believed to be aged in her 60s, died at the scene. She has not been formally identified.

Officers from Oxley Police District have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
