A woman has died following a two-vehicle crash at Lake Macquarie this morning.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Flowers Drive and the Pacific Highway, Catherine Hill Bay shortly before 8am.
It's understood a Honda sedan travelling north and a BMW sedan travelling south have collided head-on.
A female passenger of the Honda was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died a short time later.
Four others, three females and one male, were taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment to various injuries, their conditions are unknown.
Investigations into the crash are continuing; a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
