A woman has died following an incident in Donvale this morning (6 September), Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told a man and woman were about to unload an excavator on Wattamolla Ridge about 7.20am.
A truck which had the excavator on an attached trailer, began moving and the yet to be identified woman was dragged by the truck and sustained fatal injuries.
The excavator remained on the truck.
WorkSafe and Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the exact cause of the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
