Woman dies following Essendon crash

A woman has died following a single car crash in Essendon yesterday, Victoria Police say.

An 87-year-old Pascoe Vale South man was driving a car along Moreland Road about 11.40am when he drove through the intersection of Pascoe Vale Road and collided with a tree on the side of the road.

He was taken to hospital to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An 85-year-old Pascoe Vale South woman, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to hospital where she died earlier today.
