Woman dies following Riverland crash, SA

A woman has died in hospital from injuries sustained in a crash on a dirt road in the Riverland last week, according to SA Police.

Just after 5pm on Thursday 18 August, a Toyota Camry and a Holden ute collided on Hall Road about nine kilometres west of Wunkar.

A 47-year-old Riverland woman, who was a passenger in Toyota, was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital but sadly died last night.

The driver of the Toyota and the driver of the ute, both men from the Riverland area, received serious chest and leg injuries and were both taken to the Riverland Regional Hospital at Berri. While a boy travelling in the ute was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Major Crash investigators attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the head-on crash.

The woman's death is the 55th on South Australian roads so far this year. The road toll at the same time last year was 63.
