A woman has died following a car crash in Dixons Creek overnight, Victoria Police say.
It is believed the driver and female passenger were travelling north on the Melba Highway when the vehicle they were travelling in left the roadway and crashed into a steep embankment sometime before 3.30am.
The yet to be identified female passenger died at the scene.
The female driver of the vehicle has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are enroute and will investigate the cause of the crash.
