Woman dies in hospital following crash in Lakemba

A woman has died in hospital following a crash in Sydney’s south-west last week, NSW Police say.

About 6.25am on Friday 2 September 2016, police were called to Haldon Street, Lakemba, following reports of a crash.

Officers from Campsie Local Area Command attended and found a blue Mazda 2 had hit two parked cars.

The driver of the Mazda, a 68-year-old woman, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to St George Hospital and later transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital.

The woman died early this morning today.

Inquiries are continuing and detectives are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
