Woman dies in hospital following Trafalgar motorcycle crash

A woman has died in hospital following a motorcycle crash at Trafalgar South last week, Victoria Police say.

The crash happened on the Mirboo North-Trafalgar Road just before midday on 18 November.

Investigators have been told that the east-bound rider, with his female pillion passenger on board, overtook a vehicle travelling in the same direction before returning to his lane and attempting to negotiate a right hand bend.

As the rider travelled around the bend he braked heavily causing the bike to crash to the roadway and collide with the Armco railing.

Both rider, a 63-year-old man, and his passenger, a 61-year-old woman, were thrown from the bike and sustained serious injuries.

The woman was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital but died on 21 November.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
