Woman dies in Moss Vale crash

A woman has died in a crash at Moss Vale.

About 2.45pm today, a Mercedes and Toyota, travelling in opposite directions, collided on Nowra Road, Moss Vale, NSW Police say.

,A 79-year-old woman, travelling in the rear of the Toyota, died at the scene.

A 68-year-old man driving of the Mercedes suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital for treatment.

A 57-year-old man driving the Toyota had to be released from the wreckage before being taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

The front-seat passenger of the Toyota, a 71-year-old woman, was also taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

Police from Lake Illawarra Crash Investigation Unit attended and have commenced inquiries into the incident.

Nowra Road was closed for six hours while the scene was examined.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
