Woman dies in two vehicle crash in Tabulam

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in the state’s north today, NSW Police say.

Just after 12pm today, emergency services were called to the intersection of the Bruxner Highway and Plain Station Road, Tabulam, 65km west of Casino, following reports of a crash involving two vehicles.

On arriving at the scene police, found a Holden Commodore and a Toyota Landcruiser had collided.

The driver of the Holden Commodore, a 21-year-old man and three female passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to Lismore Base Hospital.

A fourth female passenger was airlifted to Lismore Base Hospital with serious injuries.

A fifth female passenger suffered fatal injuries and she died at the scene.

Their ages are not yet known.

The driver of the Toyota Landcruiser, a 72-year-old man and two passengers, a 39-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman sustained minor injuries and were also taken to Lismore Base Hospital.

Officers from the Richmond Local Area have attended the scene and an investigation into the crash is underway.

The road remains closed in both directions and traffic diversions are in place.
