Woman fights off Dandenong robber

Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after a 76-year-old woman fought off would-be robber in Dandenong earlier this month.

Police have been told a Doveton woman was shopping at a McCrae Street shopping complex when a man grabbed her hand bag out of her shopping trolley shortly before 9.15am on 10 September.

The victim grabbed the bag back and a and a struggle ensued before the man fled the scene empty handed.

As a result of the incident the victim sustained an injury to her hand.

The matter was reported to police on 12 September.

Investigators have released an image of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.
