Homicide Squad detectives are assisting in the investigation of the serious assault of a woman at St Albans yesterday, Victoria Police say.
The woman, who is yet to be identified, was located by a passerby in a Willaton Street driveway just before 8pm.
She has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene was established and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who was in the area between 7pm and 8pm, and may have information to come forward.
