Woman in critical condition after crash near Young

A woman has been critically injured after a crash in the state's south-west yesterday.

Just after 2pm yesterday (Friday 22 May 2021), emergency services were called to Wombat Road, Kingsvale, about 10km south of Young, following reports a Ford Courier had left the road and rolled.

The driver, a 54-year-old man, was taken for mandatory testing.

A seven-year-old boy was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and was later airlifted to Westmead Children's Hospital in a stable condition.

A 50-year-old woman was airlifted to Canberra Hospital with serious head injuries. She remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Officers from the Southern and Central West Crash Investigation Units examined the scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
