Woman injured by two men in Banksia

Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman was attacked by two men in Banksia yesterday.

About 11.30pm today, the 20-year-old woman was walking in Gardiners Park, Banksia, after leaving Banksia Railway Station.

While walking she was approached from behind by two unknown men. One of the men grabbed her from behind while the other began to slash at her with an object, believed to be a knife.

The woman was then pushed to the ground and dragged towards some trees before she was able to fight the men off and run away.

Police and Ambulance Paramedics were contacted. The woman was taken to St George Hospital for treatment to minor lacerations to her face, body, arms and legs.

Detectives from St George Local Area Command commenced an investigation. At this stage there is no further description of the men available.
