Woman injured during home invasion - Leichhardt

An investigation is underway after a woman was injured during a home invasion in Sydney's Inner West overnight.

About 10.10pm (Tuesday 17 August 2021), emergency services were called to a unit on Derbyshire Street, Leichhardt, following reports a woman had been assaulted.

Officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command attended a short time later and found a 35-year-old woman with facial cuts and bruising.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene; however the woman refused to go to hospital.

A crime scene was established and an investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Inquiries are continuing.
