Woman injured in Wallington crash

Geelong Highway Patrol unit members are investigating after a woman was injured at Wallington this afternoon, Victoria Police say.

It’s understood the woman’s car was parked on the left shoulder of the east bound lane of Bellarine Highway, between Bawtree and Curlewis roads, about 3.20pm.

The woman was out of her vehicle and stood on the road when she was struck by an eastbound car.

The driver of the car, a 44-year-old Ocean Grove man stopped and assisted until emergency services arrived.

The woman was airlifted to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the woman prior to the crash is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
