An investigation is underway after a woman was robbed in a car park in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.
Police have been told a woman and her 18-month-old child returned to her vehicle on Nelson Street Fairfield about 5.15pm on Tuesday 8 August 2017.
After placing the child into the car and moving to the driver’s seat, a man, who was armed with a knife, entered the vehicle, and threatened the woman before demanding cash.
The woman handed over a sum of cash and other personal items, before the man exited the vehicle and was last seen running toward Ware Street.
Neither the woman or child were injured during the incident.
Officers attached to Fairfield Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation into the indecent.
Police would like to speak to a man who might be able to assist with their inquiries.
He is described to police as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, about 175-180cm tall, large build, believed to be in his early 30s, and was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper.
Inquiries are continuing.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
