Woman seriously injured in crash near Orange, NSW

Investigations are underway into the cause of a head-on crash which injured two women near Orange yesterday, NSW Police say.

The crash occurred on the Mitchell Highway at Lucknow, 10km south-east of Orange, when an eastbound blue Honda CRV and a westbound white Nissan Pulsar collided in the westbound lanes shortly after 3.45pm (Saturday 25 November 2017).

A 19-year-old woman driving the Pulsar suffered serious head, arm and internal injuries and has been flown to Westmead Hospital where she has undergone surgery. Her condition is serious but stable. She is believed to be from Tahmoor.

The driver of the CRV, a 57-year-old woman from Orange, was treated at Orange Base Hospital and released after suffering minor injuries.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and are now appealing for anyone with dash cam vision or information about the crash to contact them via Crime Stoppers.
