Woman seriously injured in hit-run Sunshine

Brimbank Highway Patrol members are appealing for witnesses following a hit-run collision in Sunshine which has left a woman with serious injuries overnight, Victoria Police say.

It is believed a 29-year-old nurse was crossing the pedestrian crossing on Furlong Road at about 9.50pm.

A dark-coloured utility has gone through the red light, striking the woman.

Investigators have been told the vehicle continued without slowing down or stopping to assist.

The pedestrian has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police believe the vehicle they are seeking will have damage to the left front of the utility and are appealing to any anyone who may have dash camera footage in the area at the time.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
