Woman stabbed in Penrith

A woman has been hospitalised with stab wounds after an incident at a home in Glenmore Park this afternoon, NSW Police say.

About 5.40pm today, emergency services were called to a home in Garswood Road after reports were received that a woman had been injured.

Emergency services located a 29-year-old woman who had suffered stab wounds.

The woman was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics and conveyed to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Penrith Local Area Command attended the location and established a crime scene.

Police commenced a search for a 42-year-old man who it is believed is known to the woman.

About 6pm the man was located at Jamisontown where he was treated by Ambulance Paramedics for what are believed to be self inflicted injuries.

He has been conveyed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Police continue with their inquiries into the incident.
