The affordable homes sold from as little as $250,000, up to $418,000.

The Marshall Liberal Government's $21.4 million commitment to deliver 100 new homes – including 71 affordable homes – is now complete. All 100 homes flew out the door.

The deliberate and targeted stimulus provided a major-shot-in-the-arm for the construction industry and supported more South Australians into homeownership.

Minister for Human Services Michelle Lensink said the data clearly showed there was a clear appetite for affordable housing right now.

"It's very encouraging so many women and young South Australians are entering the housing market," said Minister Lensink.

"We're thrilled to be supporting South Australians aspire to their dreams and this data debunks some commentary that both women and young people either don't want to or can't afford to enter homeownership when it's clear this cohort have snapped up these homes.

"The Marshall Liberal Government's strong plan to increase the supply of affordable housing in South Australia is hitting the mark when it comes to helping people on lower-and-moderate incomes get into the housing market, as well as supporting vital jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic."

All two-and-three bedrooms homes built were in suburbs 20-to-40 minutes from the CBD in suburbs including Croydon Park, Klemzig, South Plympton, South Brighton, Woodville Gardens and Findon.

With the 100 homes stimulus now complete, the Marshall Liberal Government's $400 million commitment to deliver 1000 new affordable homes by 2025 is underway.

Homes are already under construction in Morphettville, Findon, Woodville West, Kidman Park, Dover Gardens and Devon Park.
