Works continue for Yawa Aquatic Centre

YawaAquatic.jpg

Over the last few months, the Yawa Aquatic Centre build has made steady progress and works are nearing completion inside the building. All pools have been filled, as well as the pool surroundings (concourse) and pool tiling completed.

The floating pool divider (pool boom) has been installed allowing the 50m pool to be divided into two 25m pools.

The Aqua Play Zone has been fitted with three slides, water cannons and tipping bucket.

External landscaping and installation of signage has also begun.

In the next couple of weeks, the steam room and sauna will be completed, and equipment installed in the gym.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted us all, but good news is Yawa has still been able to progress even though the construction did slow down for a while.

The target date for project completion is early May 2021 and the Centre is planned to be officially open to the public later in the month; with the official opening date to be announced in the coming weeks.
