Cairns Regional Council advises that work to repair a sinkhole at the bus stop on the western (outbound) side of Lake Street, between Aplin and Shields streets, will start 5am on Monday (22 February).
Works are expected to be completed by the close of business on Monday.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible as there will be disruptions to traffic – traffic control and detours will be in place.
The bus stop will continue to operate as usual.
Cairns Regional Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience and cooperation of road users while these repairs are undertaken.
