Works Update

Council crews have been busy clearing debris and ensuring safe access for roads and bridges across the shire, following our recent extreme weather events.

Thank you to all of the crews, council staff, SES and community volunteers who worked to keep our community safe during this time.

A number of significant road and infrastructure upgrades have been continuing across the shire, despite the inclement weather conditions.

These include:

  • Salisbury Road and Flat Tops Road have been stabilised, to prepare for sealing next week. These works are funded under the NSW Government's Fixing Local Roads program and council's Special Rate Variation.
  • Base materials have been bought in to Paterson River Road, in preparation for stabilising and sealing over the next fortnight, weather permitting. These works are also funded under the NSW Government's Fixing Local Roads program and council's Special Rate Variation.
  • Heavy patching has been taking place along many parts of Bingleburra Road, as well as at various other locations across the shire.
  • The first three of 23 timber bridges to be replaced under the NSW Government's Fixing Country Bridges program are underway, including:
    • Archinals Bridge: Work is underway on this $1M bridge replacement;
    • Mary Carlton's Bridge: Work is nearing completion on this $650K bridge replacement; and
    • Bruxner Bridge: Poor weather has delayed the commencement of work on this $1.4M bridge replacement; however, works are expected to commence next week, with Summer Hill Road closed from Monday 6 December for the duration of these works.
