Wounding charge in Bowen Hills, QLD

Detectives have charged a man after an alleged stabbing in Bowen Hills overnight, Queensland Police say.

Officers were called to an address on Brunswick Street at 7.45pm and on arrival, they located a 57-year-old man with a wound to his abdomen.

Police will allege that two men became involved in a verbal argument and that the 57-year-old received a stab wound to his stomach.

A man was taken into custody at the scene, and the 57-year-old was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A 58-year-old man has been charged with one count of wounding and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
