Wounding charges, Kuraby

Morningside detectives have laid charges relating to an alleged shooting of a 16-year-old boy at Kuraby in 2019.

On March 25, two 16-year-old boys were in a park off Stiller Drive, when they were approached by a group of men.

Multiple shots were allegedly fired with one hitting the arm of one of the 16-year-old boys.

He was later transported to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Following exhaustive investigations, detectives from the Morningside Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) have today executed several warrants and three men were arrested.

A 20-year-old Runcorn man has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and a drug related offence.

A 22-year-old Upper Caboolture man has also been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

A 46-year-old Runcorn man has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.

All three men are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Investigations are ongoing.
