Wounding Charges, Southport

A man has been charged following an alleged disturbance at a property in Southport last night, 27 September.

Police and emergency services were called to Brooke Avenue at 10.07pm to reports of an altercation involving three people.

Upon arrival, officers located a 58-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman with non-life-threatening injuries.

They were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

A 35-year-old Newport man has been charged with 16 offences including two counts of threatening violence, contravention of domestic violence order, and one count each of unlawful stalking (domestic violence offence), breach of restraining order, wounding, and wilful damage.

He is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday, 29 September.
