Wyndham City is excited to support 17 applicants with a total of $579,060.33 in community grants to deliver projects that boost wellbeing and community connection.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw said up to $40,000 per project was available to Incorporated Groups and not-for-profit organisations under the Large Grants scheme delivered annually by Wyndham City.
"These grants allow not-for-profit organisations and community-based groups to deliver projects and events that align with the Wyndham 2040 Community Vision."
"This includes funding for SisterWorks Incorporated for the 'Empower Her Enterprise: Building Small Businesses in Wyndham for Migrant and Refugee Women' project and the St John Ambulance Australia Victoria roll out of defibrillators to name just two projects."
"We've allocated funding to groups that will deliver a mix of events, employment/educational opportunities, sport/recreation opportunities, community leadership, health and arts development projects."
"Through these grants we're reaching a wide range of community members including young people, multicultural communities, those on low incomes, women's groups, older residents and those living with long term health conditions and disability."
"We look forward to our community growing and strengthening as these projects are delivered over the next 12 months, we estimate that the allocation of these funds will result in
a total value of $1.8million in activities within Wyndham, involve more than 951 volunteers and an estimated 64,795 Wyndham project participants."
