Wyndham detectives smash mail-theft gang

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested five people following an investigation into the theft of mail and credit card deceptions in the Werribee area, Victoria Police say.

A man and four women were arrested after detectives executed a warrant on a Werribee house yesterday.

Investigators will allege that a large amount of mail was located at the address, believed to have been stolen from unsecured letter boxes in the area.

A 28-year-old man has been charged with obtain property by deception, burglary, and handle stolen goods while a 34-year-old woman was also charged with obtain property by deception.

Both have been bailed to appear at the Werribee Magistrates’ Court on 10 January, 2018.

Three other woman aged 30, 28 and 34 have been charged with drug and property offences.

They have all been bailed to appear at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on 30 November.
