Wyreema: Deadly Driving Charges Filed

Officers from Toowoomba's Forensic Crash Unit have charged a 37-year-old woman following a protracted investigation into a fatal traffic crash at Wyreema on 30 July, 2025.

Just before 5pm, it is alleged a white 2011 Toyota Landcruiser was travelling south on Toowoomba Karara Road when it crashed into a silver 2011 Toyota Aurion travelling north.

The driver of the Aurion, a 57-year-old Wyreema woman, died at the scene.

The driver of the Landcruiser, a 37-year-old Felton woman, and three passengers, children aged three, four and six were transported to Toowoomba Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 37-year-old Felton woman has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance and driving under the influence.

She is due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on 30 March.

Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision of the events leading up to the crash is urged to contact police.
