Police investigating a suspected hit-and-run fatality south-west of Richmond are appealing for further information.
Emergency services were called to Springwood Road at Yarramundi, after the body of a man was found on the roadside about 11.30pm last Monday (11 August 2025).
Initial inquiries indicate the man died after being hit by a vehicle that failed to stop.
Officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU), took over inquiries and established Strike Force Yetmore to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
An appeal for information was made on Tuesday 12 August 2025 and, about 7.30pm that evening, a member of the public alerted police to a damaged vehicle seen abandoned in Glenbrook.
A crime scene was established, and a black 2005-model Ford Fiesta – with damage to the front and windscreen – was towed for further examination. It had not been reported stolen.
Investigators now wish to appeal for further information that may assist with inquiries.
Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the Yarramundi South Reserve between 11pm on Monday 11 August and midnight Tuesday 12 August.
In particular police are hoping to speak to the driver of a white Mercedes car that was seen in the area before the incident.
Inquiries are continuing and investigators have also renewed their appeal for anyone with relevant dashcam vision, particularly who were in the vicinity of The Driftway and Castlereagh Road, Agnes Banks, about 10pm on Monday 11 August 2025 to contact Crash Investigators via Crime Stoppers.
