Tasmanians are invited to have their say on plans for the much-anticipated Next Iconic Walk.
Minister for Parks, Nick Duigan, said the proposed three-day, two-night walk was designed to showcase the extraordinary environment and rich history of Tasmania's rugged West Coast.
"The Tasmanian Government is delivering the Next Iconic Walk, building on the success of the Overland Track and Three Capes Track," Minister Duigan said.
"This walk aims to enhance Tasmania's reputation as one of the great walking destinations in the world.
"Following extensive planning and design work, public comment on the draft environmental impact statement is now open."
The proposal features overnight accommodation options at Lake Huntley and Lake Mary designed with a focus on environmental sustainability.
The public provided feedback on initial plans at a series of information sessions held across the State last year, with feedback taken on board. Updated designs were released earlier this year.
Now, the detailed plans and environmental impact statement have been released for public consultation as part of the Reserve Activity Assessment process managed by Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service.
