Young boy dies after bike crash at Blacktown

A young boy has died after the bike he was riding crashed into a barrier at Blacktown.

Just before 5pm (Tuesday 11 June 2019), emergency services attended a playing field in De Castella Drive, following reports a male had sustained serious injuries after the bike he was riding impacted with a metal barrier.

Police and NSW Ambulance Paramedics arrived, and the 17-year-old was taken to Blacktown Hospital suffering serious head injuries, and later died.

A crime scene was established and the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.

A brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

There appears to be no suspicious circumstances and police believe it was misadventure.
