Young girl dies after Virginia crash, SA

A young girl has died in hospital from injuries sustained in a car rollover near Virginia on Friday, according to SA Police.

Just after 10am on Friday 23 September, a Holden station wagon travelling north on Port Wakefield Road, rolled just south of Virginia.

The 12-year-old girl from North Haven, who was seated in the rear of the car, received critical injuries and was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment, but sadly died this morning.

A 30-year-old woman and two other children, a 13-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, were taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital with non- life threatening injuries.

Major Crash Investigators are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The young girl's death is the 62nd on South Australia roads so far this year. The road toll at the same time last year was 69.
