Young girl indecently assaulted during break-in in Kingsford

Police are appealing for information after an aggravated break and enter during which a child was indecently assaulted in Sydney’s east, NSW Police say.

Sometime between 1.30am and 4.30am yesterday (Monday 14 May 2018), an eight-year-old girl was asleep in her bed at a home on Barker Street, Kingsford, when a man climbed through her bedroom window.

The man climbed onto the girl’s bed and indecently assaulted her before leaving.

The girl reported the incident to her mother who contacted police. She was not physically injured in the incident.

Detectives from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating the incident and have obtained a statement from the girl.

The man has been described as about 50 years old, with an Australian or English accent, and he was wearing a dark hooded jumper.
