Youth charged after weapons, drugs located, NSW

Officers from Police Transport Command have charged a youth over the alleged possession of a prohibited weapon, knives, graffiti implements, and drugs in Wollongong.

About 11.15am today, officers from Police Transport Command South West Sector were performing an operation at Wollongong Railway Station when they spoke to a 16-year-old boy.

Police had cause to search the boy, allegedly locating in his possession a small amount of cannabis, as well as knuckle dusters, two folding knives and a permanent marker.

He was arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with possess prohibited weapon, custody of knife, possess graffiti implement and possess prohibited drug.

He was bailed to appear at a children’s court on 16 May 2016, NSW Police say.
