Victoria's largest ever Youth Summit gets underway today at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne with more than 400 young people gathering to discuss the issues that matter most to them.
Minister for Youth Gabrielle Williams will open the second annual Youth Summit and said the event provided an important platform for young people to have their voices heard.
Hundreds of young people from across Victoria will come together to explore the future world of work and discuss the opportunities and challenges of emerging workforce trends.
Attendees will hear from inspiring speakers, attend interactive workshops, and share their ideas on how government, business and the community can help prepare young people for the future world of work.
The Summit is a key part of the Andrews Labor Government's Youth Policy: Building Stronger Youth Engagement in Victoria, providing an opportunity for young people to influence policy, services and programs that affect them.
Since 2015, the Labor Government has invested $80 million in building the engagement and economic participation of young Victorians.
Youth Summit kicks off Victorian Youth Week, which acknowledges the achievements of young people and the contribution that young Victorians make to our community.
