Kiama Council's SENTRAL team continues to be recognised for their efforts with a nomination as NSW Youth Service of the Year.

SENTRAL recently received a We Do Magic Award from the Community Industry Group for their efforts supporting local young people over the last year.

The team is now a finalist in the Youth Work Awards 2021, with services across NSW including Blacktown, Dubbo and Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Director Environmental Services Jessica Rippon said it was an honour to be nominated alongside other youth services that have also given their communities outstanding support.

"The way our SENTRAL Youth Services team has responded during COVID-19 and its impact on young people is something we can all be proud of," Ms Rippon said.

"They have worked extremely hard over the last 12 months, which has tested our own resilience when dealing with suicide and providing grief support."

"Of course we couldn't have managed this without our network of community partners and most importantly the young people who make it a privilege to do what we do."

The NSW Youth Work Awards will be announced on Thursday 18 November.
