Workforce Inspectorate Victoria (WIV) has delivered strong results for Victorian workers, helping recover almost $1.7 million in long service leave entitlements during 2025-26.
WIV completed 55 long service leave investigations and helped 320 Victorians recoup an average of $5,309 in long-service entitlements each.
Our front-line services answered more than 8,000 enquiries and our public education and awareness efforts reached an estimated audience of 11.3 million through traditional media and more than 13 million impressions via social media.
The Inspectorate also continued to regulate child employment across Victoria, issuing 696 new child employment licences and enabling 1,707 business to employ 4,641 children.
Compliance and enforcement activities remained a priority, with 53 audits of owner-driver and forestry contractor obligations completed and 234 child employment audits and investigations.
Finalised court proceedings included prosecutions against Transurban Limited, the Apollo Bay Fishermen's Co-Operative, Romlik Pty Ltd and TJ & CJ Forder Pty Ltd.
December 2025 also saw the commencement of the Constructions Complaints Referral Service and led to 79 construction complaints being referred to relevant agencies and organisations.
